Frequently Asked Questions

  • Indian weddings often involve multiple ceremonies, larger guest counts, complex timelines, family performances, and multiple music styles. A specialized Indian wedding DJ understands traditions such as Baraats, Sangeets, Garba, Raas, Muhurtam, Mehndi and reception formalities while also creating an unforgettable dance floor experience for guests of all backgrounds.

  • Yes. I DJ at weddings where the audience is either fully Indian, fully American or mixed, across generations and regions.

  • I would need to know the number of events, the theme, the venue, the number of expected guests, the approximate timeline, type of music, the demographic and any other preferences.

I could then recommend the sound and light equipment required and give you the minimum baseline quote, the different packages I offer and I could also share the price list for any enhancements and add-ons.

  • Based on the information you provide in the discovery call (above), I offer different packages and enhancements.

My rates are aligned with the market value - similar DJs and event production companies in the area with comparable experience, music style and equipment.

  • Indian wedding DJ pricing in Southern California typically ranges from $4,000 to $10,000+ depending on event duration, guest count, travel, sound requirements, lighting design, special effects, and whether additional services such as MC services, dhol players, cold sparklers, or LED dance floors are included.

Every wedding is unique, and I provide customized proposals based on your vision and venue requirements.

  • I do have a baseline package for small-medium size events for up to 80 people for up to 4hrs. In this package, the included equipment is as follows:

    • Bose L1 Pro 16 speakers

    • 2 wireless microphones

    • Party light bar with wash lights

    • Facade, DJ controller setup.

This will all be setup and operated independently by me.

  • Of course! I love connecting with potential clients either on a video call or in-person to make sure you I answer all your questions and you feel good and comfortable about hiring me.

  • Yes I love to DJ for a variety of events.

I enjoy working for Corporate, Cultural / Community events, milestone celebrations, graduation parties, etc.

I am always a learner and enthusiastic about every opportunity that comes my way.

  • Bollywood, Punjabi/Desi pop, South Indian (Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam), Gujarati garba, Hip Hop, Top 40, and throwbacks from every decade. I'm fluent in Hindi, Telugu, and English, and I'm known for my Bollywood-English mashups.

  • Yes! Unlike most other DJs who do not entertain requests, my approach is very different. I would like for you to approach me and let me know what you and your friends are reminiscing about in the moment, or want to take a detour with a new genre of music, or an updated timeline that I would need to adapt to! I am there for you and to serve you in a manner where you feel truly heard, happy and never go back home thinking “only if I could have danced to that song!”

  • Yes. I can make announcements and also hype the crowd up if needed. But if you are looking for someone who can entertain your guests and be the host for the night, I work with MCs who could work really amazing with me and take your event to the next level!

  • Yes. I work closely with couples, planners, photographers, videographers, and venue coordinators to ensure all events stay on schedule. I also love to be involved more closely for any consultation, suggestions you might want from me as a DJ/music partner. A well-planned timeline creates a smoother experience and allows everyone to enjoy the celebration.

  • At least 8-12 months in advance.

  • Yes! I love to travel and work with your planners and local vendors for equipment. Travel and accommodation fees may apply.

  • If your event already has a packed agenda with lots of performers, it might not make sense to hire me. But if you’re planning at least an hour of open dance floor time, a DJ makes all the difference — creating flow, reading the room, and keeping the energy alive in ways a playlist simply can’t.

  • Short answer: Nope 😊

I’m not a “press play” DJ. I bring professional mixing, crowd reading, and the vibe that makes people actually dance. That said, I do love when clients share a list of must-have songs — it helps me understand your taste and build the perfect set around it. If you just need sound and lights and want someone to play your list of songs, there are plenty of rental services for that.

  • Yes and I can provide a Certificate of Insurance as per the venue requirements.

  • Yes. In addition to DJ services, I offer complete wedding production including professional sound systems, ceremony audio, MC services, dhol players, uplighting, wash lighting, moving head lighting, cold sparklers, Dancing on the Clouds, LED dance floors, monogram projections, and event coordination, consultation, references and any support as needed.

  • As one of Southern California’s few female Indian wedding DJs, I bring a unique perspective to wedding entertainment. My goal is not simply to play music but to create an experience that reflects your culture, personalities, and vision. Whether your celebration includes Bollywood, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, American, or multicultural traditions, I work closely with you to create a wedding that feels authentically yours.

  • A Baraat DJ provides high-energy music and sound reinforcement for the groom’s procession. I provide professional mobile sound systems designed specifically for outdoor Baraats and can coordinate with live dhol players to create an unforgettable entrance experience.

  • Yes. I can work with or provide professional dhol players for Baraats, wedding entrances, grand receptions, and special performances. Combining a live dhol player with a DJ creates an exciting and interactive experience that guests love. It is totally optional to have a dhol player - as a DJ, I can mix in the dhol beats in the songs I play for you.

I can also work with you to enhance the experience even further, with a horse or a pick-up truck or any luxury vehicles for the groom.

Category: Lighting

  • Wash lights provide broad, even illumination that enhances the atmosphere of your venue. They can be customized to match your wedding colors and create a more elegant, immersive experience for guests.

  • Moving head lights are intelligent lighting fixtures that create dynamic effects throughout the venue. They can project beams, patterns, and movement onto the dance floor, adding energy and a concert-style experience during open dancing.

  • Wedding uplighting uses LED fixtures placed around the room to illuminate walls, columns, draping, and architectural features. Uplighting is one of the most effective ways to transform a venue and create a customized look that matches your wedding design.

  • The number of uplights depends on your venue size and desired effect. Smaller venues may require 8-12 uplights, while larger ballrooms may use 20-40 or more. During our planning process, we help determine the ideal lighting design for your space.

  • A monogram projection displays your names, initials, wedding logo, or custom design on the dance floor, wall, ceiling, or backdrop. It is a simple way to personalize your wedding and create a custom-designed atmosphere.

Category: Enhancements

  • Yes. Professional cold sparkler machines produce stunning spark effects without open flames, smoke, or traditional fireworks.

They are commonly used for grand entrances, first dances, and special reception moments like cake cutting, reception reveal, last dance, grand exit. These moments create memorable experiences and incredible photo and video opportunities.

    Venue approval is always required.

  • Dancing on the Clouds is a special effect created using low-lying fog that stays close to the floor. It creates a beautiful floating cloud appearance that is especially popular during first dances and reception entrances.

  • An LED dance floor creates an immediate focal point and adds a luxury experience to your wedding reception. It enhances photos, videos, grand entrances, and open dancing while helping create a unique guest experience.
